Ｉｔ’s depressing to think how we human beings are destroying
our mother earth.
In summer about 30 years ago, I went back to my home village
in Fukushima. I was shocked to see that the river bank was
entirely cemented by ugly concrete. The river we used to
swim and fish was totally gone. When it rained, the river flooded
because there wasn't enough earth space to absorb the water.
In those days villagers seemed trying their best to make their
life style as close as possible to that of the big cities. They
gladly killed their river.
I'm not saying that all modern technology is anti-human.
We need electricity, autos, trains, jet planes etc. Then we need
to exert our utmost care to preserve nature. Otherwise, we are
destined to be ruined by this unintentional suicide.
